Test board for PLC controllers
A wooden board, two DIN rails, a Siemens LOGO! and an MRS CAN I/O module: the basis for testing controllers without a machine.

To finally justify some long-past investments in PLC controllers and electrical components, I had the idea of building a test board. It is based on a 320 × 500 mm wooden board on which the PLC modules are mounted. Two DIN rails make fixing the components simpler and tidier.
At the moment a Siemens LOGO! (12 V / 24 V with display) and an MRS CAN I/O module are in use. Terminal strips simplify the cabling from the controllers to the components.

The test board now has all its components (so far). The cables are routed and the first functions have been tested. The LEDs, push buttons and toggle switches sit in a 3D-printed housing and can now be used to test various functions.
Sockets were added at the top left of the board so the bench power supply or a CAN bus can simply be plugged in. The connectors for the MRS modules are wired with cables long enough to reach the jumper strips. The next step is programming. More components may follow.
